Most Valuable Player of the prestigious Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Muhaimin Guba has expressed utter disappointment after missing out on two major categories in the upcoming Ghana Basketball Awards.
The 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards will take place on August 12 at Best Western Premier Hotel in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The swingman who was key in University of Ghana’s multiple titles including a gold medal at the just ended All Africa University Games in Johannesburg, South Africa was not nominated in both the Tertiary Player of the Year category or the Most Valuable Player of the Year category.
“Obviously I will feel so (slighted) because I honestly think I should have been in there somehow but then a board came together and came up with those names am not going to question their ability…am just going to go with what they have and trust the decisions they made are right” he said in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com.
Regarding his future in the game, Guba stated, “I am just going to continue being who I am play the way I play and hopefully things will get better.”
Nicknamed “Astro”, Muhaimin missed out on joining Power Forward Maxwell Mod and Coach Meme Falconer as University of Ghana representatives among Award nominees. The latter is nominated as Coach of the Year alongside Lawal Brimah and James Okine.
