The second round of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division tipped off with a stunning 59-51 win by Reformers of Prisons over Air Force. Per standout Point Guard Promise Ofori, the win is a sign of big things to come from the team.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, the 2013 Ghana Basketball Awards Female Player of the Year nominee was in ebullient mood following the much needed win.

“Yes (things will be better) in the first round, this team (Air Force) actually scored us so we came into this game to win. Since I joined Reformers in 2010 Air Force has never scored Prisons so I was surprised they scored us and we promised ourselves that we are going to take the win” she said.

Ofori, also spelt teamwork as the main reason for the crucial win which enabled the team back to back losses on home court.

Reformers held a massive 15-5 lead after the first quarter but committed too many turnovers which were capitalized on by Air Force to whittle Reformers lead to two-45-43 at the end of the third quarter. However Ofori, Augustina Amuzu and new recruit Juliana Cudjoe made key baskets and steals to ensure victory.
