After witnessing their male side lose miserably to Braves last Saturday, Reformers of Prisons Women’s team will take on Braves in the Accra Basketball League Women’s Division scheduled to take place later today at the prisons Court in Cantonments.
The home side head into the round of games- which will feature Navy’s matchup with Fire Service as they battle for a maiden win in the season- with an indifferent record thus far in the league following two wins and two losses.
When Reformers are good, they are practically unstoppable with the likes of Promise Ofori, Augustina Amuzu and Deborah Adebkah showing off great shooting touches around the basket and far beyond it. However, the team’s lack of consistent rebounds from the likes of bigs Eva Alhassan and Anatu Issah have plagued Reformers all through four games.
Against unbeaten defending champions Braves, who will be motivated to regain top spot in the league, consistency on the boards will be key in preventing Matilda Gorda and Gloria Gyampoh of Braves from dominating the game.
A second straight home defeat will be a devastating blow for fans who witnessed Reformers male side fall to Braves despite a valiant effort in the second and third quarters but a better showing from the female side can change the outlook.
