University of Ghana’s (UG) Basketball Team delivered another stunning display in beating Midland State University from Zimbabwe 91-65 to complete a two game sweep in the early rounds of the All Africa University Games.
The Games, popularly known as FASU brings together tertiary institutions in Africa to compete in multiple disciplines including basketball, football, volleyball and tennis.
Having dispatched University of Lusaka 63-41 earlier today, the hoops team of Ghana’s premier University, repeated the winning dose by outclassing their Zimbabwean opponents in the afternoon matchup.
UG’s dominance was punctuated with a 71-45 lead at the end of the third quarter before rounding off proceedings with a dominant finish in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten in the championship. The team is set to compete in a three on three competition on Friday.
UG has got off to a wonderful start in the biannual championship with likes of the Table Tennis team winning silver. However, the basketball team remains favorites to win a medal in the competition.
