The Accra Basketball League (ABL) is still waiting on the league’s board to decide the fate of Fire Service Small Forward Farahat Tamimu Aliu. Almost a fortnight since Tamimu got tossed out of a game for threatening a referee the league board is yet to take a decision on the delicate matter.
League representative Kofi Amanyo cited the delay was mainly due to the board’s plans of exploring all available options to deal with the case and player in question including bye laws and international rules when contacted by Basketballghana.com.
However, he was sure the situation will be resolved as quickly as possible to ensure the league has no outstanding disciplinary issues.
Member of the disciplinary committee Prosper Agbleta reiterated a final decision on the case will be made soon. The committee has sat on the case on two occasions with the latest happening prior to league games over the past weekend at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.
In the third quarter of Fire Service 72-42 win over Teshie Rangers, Farahat lost his cool when the game’s umpire didn’t call a foul in his favour and got slapped with a technical. His further abuse towards the official got him ejected from the game.
