The Accra Basketball League (ABL) inched closer to its season’s midpoint as games were honored over the weekend in both male and female divisions at the Prisons Court in Cantonments. The round featured exciting games which had a large number of fans cheer with every touch.
Air Force rebounded from a crushing loss to Braves to produce a splendid performance to beat Galaxy 45-36 in an outstanding fixture. The team’s win was impressive considering team leader Annabel Dsane missed out with an injury.
In the men’s division, Tudu Magic delivered a balanced performance to outwit Navy 48-38 before home side Reformers of Prisons fell 43-83 to defending champions Braves and DC Dynamics recorded a maiden win in the elite division by piping Holy Family 40-39.
Buoyed on by a vociferous crowd, Reformers took the fight to Braves were undone by the experienced side who stayed calm to extend its unbeaten run in the league to four from four games played in the season.
Dynamics played better in previous encounters but came out empty. However playing perhaps their worst game thus far produced its maiden win of the 2016 season. Holy Family’s close loss condemned the team to a winless run in the league making it the worst team in the league.
