Accra Basketball League (ABL) Management will convene today at Prisons Court in Accra ahead of Men’s Division I games to finish off fine details regarding Small Forward Farahat Tamimu’s altercation with game officials according to representative Prosper Agbleta.
The administrator made the statement when Basketballghana.com inquired about the board’s plans on resolving the incident which marred Fire Service 72-42 win over Teshie Rangers in the previous round of games at the Lebanon House in Tudu.
“We met yesterday at Lebanon House so tomorrow we will be meeting again. We’ve invited the coach of Fire Service and Farahat together with the officiating officials who were running the lines…they are coming to the disciplinary committee. After we’ve met and we hear everybody’s case, I know a final decision will be made” he said.
However, he refused to give an indication of the punishment likely to be metered out to Tamimu. The Disciplinary Committee is chaired by Ghana Basketball Association Vice President Iddi Agambire.
Farahat lost his cool with the game’s umpire feeling he deserved a call and went on to insult the official who called a technical on the Small Forward. Incensed by the call, he berated the official further threatening her in the process before being escorted off the court.
Further mayhem ensued when he directed his rash behavior towards veteran administrator and referee Matthias Ocloo.
