A day after Ghanaian Forward Benjamin Bentil gets drafted into the NBA, Reformers of Prisons will go up against Braves of Customs in a headlining game of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division games on Friday at the Prisons Court in Accra.
Navy will play against Tudu Magic as DC Dynamics take on Holy Family in the remaining games on the day. Reformers go into the matchup on the back off grabbing an expected 60-52 win over Holy Family who are yet to win a game in four attempts for the season.
However, the team doesn’t look like last season’s runners up Tema Youth or the deep Fire Service team to beat multiple league champions Braves. The defending champions are yet to be beaten this season and have shown they are up for the challenge this time around.
One concerning area for Reformers is the lack of rebounding. Despite having big guys with tons of experience in Aziz Mohammed, Benjamin Abankwah and David Boyan, the team has come short on many occasions on that end which contributed to a close win over Holy Family in the previous round.
Against a strong and deep unit like Braves who can count on Enoch Borsah and Suleman Abubakar to dominate the boards, Reformers will have to step up activities on that end to stand a chance against Braves.
