Air Force Guard Annabel Dsane has fired a strong worded statement to defending champions Braves of Customs brandishing them as beatable. The surprising statement is sure to catch people off guard considering Air Force was on the receiving end of a massive 29-48 loss to Braves in the Accra Basketball League Women’s Division.
Despite putting up a meek performance which resulted in a season’s maiden loss for Air Force, the team leader was unperturbed by the strength of the unbeaten champions in an interview with Basketballghana.com stating:
“Very beatable we can beat them and they know…I say so because I believe in myself and I believe in my team. No team is unbeatable. I don’t see CEPS (Customs) supreme or too big”.
Air Force held a 7-0 lead in a quick start to the game but fell short of a victory as they got blown away by the multiple champions taking advantage of a tired side which had only two substitutes. The team’s prospects plummeted in the second half when two players fouled out leaving the team with no bench help.
The loss was Air Force’ first of the season and avoiding a similar this weekend against Galaxy will keep them in touch with leaders Braves.
