Fire Service Small Forward Farahat Tamimu Aliu is likely to be suspended following an altercation with a game official during Fire’s 72-42 win over Teshie Rangers in the Accra Basketball League (ABL). The incident happened midway through the third quarter with Fire Service holding a big lead when Farahat felt he was fouled and deserved to go the free throw line.
However, he got upset and voiced some choice words to the official who called a technical on him before ejecting him from the game.
The talented but hot headed Forward lost all his marbles by threatening to assault veteran Ghanaian basketball administrator and referee Matthias Ocloo before being escorted to one end of the court.
The (ABL) League Board is yet to come out with a decision despite several contracts from Basketballghana.com.
The latest incident marks another dark spot on the brilliant resume of Tamimu who got kicked off fellow ABL outfit and multiple champions, Braves of Customs, for similar run ins with officials.
Despite the loss, Fire saw out a comfortable win over Rangers to maintain its’ winning run in the season. The team is ranked fifth on the standings after winning two games.
