San Antonio Spurs Power Forward David West arrived earlier today at the Kotoka International Airport in Ghana’s capital, Accra. The former Indiana Pacers player arrives in the West African country for the second time in as many years following a successful first season in San Antonio.
West visited Ghana prior to the 2015-2016 season following his shock decision to leave a bumper salary in his contract with Indiana Pacers and sign for little over $1.5 million with the Spurs. He was met on arrival by members of sports agency Prolific Sports including basketball pundit and scout Sandy Asiedu.
Prolific Sports Chief Executive Officer Kenny Andam was excited with West’ return to the country where the 35 year old will hold training sessions with young players. On his part, West said he was looking forward to another wonderful stay in Ghana
A former All-Star, David West spent 12 seasons in the NBA playing for the then New Orleans Hornets now Pelicans and Indiana Pacers before signing for the Spurs. He went on to average seven points and four rebounds in his first go around for Greg Popovich side.
