Holy Family Point Guard Gideon Frankie has fingered the lack of proper training as the reason behind his team’s losing streak in the Accra Basketball League (ABL). Holy Family lost 51-54 to Teshie Rangers over the weekend at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra.

The loss condemned Family to its’ third straight loss in the season. Speaking to Ghana’s leading basketball hub, Frankie lamented not practicing enough was a key reason behind the losses. He said:

“We feel bad. I mean losing three in a row is very bad; we have not really trained as a team because we (players) are all not in Accra we are from different parts of the country. We come together and play so we don’t really get the time to train together that’s why I think we are losing”

Holy Family has struggled to have enough players fill out the roster on game nights as it had no substitutes on the opening day against defending champions Braves of Customs and featured just two substitutes against Rangers.

Family’s Center James Offei for instance, is based in Takoradi and has to move to Accra to play on game days. Despite missing influential Guard Adams, Holy Family played its best game in the league against a tough Rangers side.
