Fire Service extended its’ losing streak to three games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division after losing 29-42 to Air Force. The Week Four loss took place at the Prisons Court in Cantonments; Accra which had defending champions Braves of Customs beat Navy 55-30 later in the day.
Following an opening day 30-62 loss to Reformers of Prisons, the team played abysmally against Braves leading to another loss before the matchup with Air Force. In what has been pretty much customary for the underwhelming Fire side, the team could hardly muster anything on offense and woeful in defense.
The sole bright spot for the team has been Point Guard Carlyn Naa Adjei. Her smooth ball handling skills and standout composure has been to the team what the Nile is to Egypt. However, unlike the aforementioned analogy, the team has failed to capitalize on the talent of their Guard culminating in bad losses.
Coach Lawrence Nortey has looked bemused on several occasions on the sidelines watching his side flounder on the court.
Week Four featured yet another no show from University of Ghana and Police who have since had their names removed from the roster in the division.
