Defending champions Braves of Customs will be up against Air Force later today at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra in a headline game of Week Four in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I. The round will also have Holy Family take on Teshie Rangers and Tema Youth play Reformers of Prisons.
Braves has looked imperious in two games played and will have the chance to extend its’ unbeaten run to three should they beat Air Force. On the other hand, Air Force’ 39-37 win over Rangers in Week Three has given the team a lot of confidence following a similar close loss (40-43) to Tudu Magic.
Tema Youth and Reformers go into the final game of the day with a simple objective to win a second game. A win for Reformers will maintain the side’s winning run in the league after recording a 65-59 win over DC Dynamics. Despite the impressive showing on its’ debut, the game made the headlines for the wrong reasons with dodgy calls from referees.
Team Youth must avoid the laid back attitude which resulted in a shock loss to Navy on the opening day of the season.
Teshie Rangers or the “Power Rangers”-going by the new moniker- will be hoping for a bounce back performance against a Holy Family side that is yet to register a win in the season. Rangers’ new bright yellow kit did not do the trick in their last outing against Air Force but might do so this time if the team converts free throws down the stretch.
