Braves of CEPS will play Navy in the final game of the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I second week tonight at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra. The game will have the undefeated sides go against each other with a shot at extending their respective winning runs.
The scheduled games will commence at 17:00 GMT with Magic taking on Air Force and Reformers going up against DC Dynamics in the other games.
The defending champions obliterated Holy Family in the opening game 69-37. However, the team had no difficulties pulling off the win as Holy Family played with no substitutes or a coach on the bench. To make matter worse for Family, Center James Pappoe fouled out in the final quarter with over three minutes left to play.
The likes of 2015 National Most Valuable Player Mutaleeb Alhassan, Baniba Dodzie, Richard Borsah and Patrick Gomerli will have a tougher task against a Navy side that looked different from last season against Tema. The improved side beat last season runners up Tema Youth 51-46 last week.
David Asingar, Richard Tetteh, Brew Smith and Ernest Kojo will offer a different kind of test to the vastly experienced Braves side due to their ability to withstand pressure and close games out.
Heading into the fourth quarter with a healthy 37-19 lead, Tema Youth rallied to reduce the deficit to just two points. However, Navy found ways to fend off Tema’s threat to win with a six point difference.
