CEPS Ladies Basketball Team are overwhelming favorites for the Accra Basketball League Women’s Division according to Galaxy Basketball Team Manager Anthony Nartey Arjoh.
The veteran administrator who serves as team manager for two other teams in the Men’s Division I and Division II respectively including Magic, made the statement prior to the commencement of the 2016 season on May 6.
In an interview with Basketballghana.com, Arjoh though in high spirits for the upcoming season for his side, admitted CEPS were odds on favorites to win the title. He said:
“ Automatically we (Galaxy) know we won’t win the league but we will play because CEPS has the most experienced players in the league. Our team is more like a training club but CEPS is not a training club”.
Galaxy got off to a winning start in the new season with an easy win after Police Ladies failed to show up for the opening day’s final game of the season against Galaxy Ladies. The Police team per reports gathered could not complete registration in time for the commencement of the league.
Fire Service Ladies lost 30-62 to Prisons Ladies and Air Force Ladies defeated Navy 45-37 in other games on the opening day of the league.
