Galaxy Women’s Basketball team recorded its first win over Police in the new Greater Accra Women’s Basketball League season courtesy a walk over. The game between the sides was scheduled to be the final game of the first day of the new season which had the likes of Air Force beat Navy 45-37 in an earlier game.
Galaxy’s team was kitted and warmed up prior to the game but was left jacking up shots among themselves as the Police team failed to turn up for the game. Officials called the game off after 10 minutes and handed Galaxy the win and maximum points respectively.
Reports gathered by Basketballghana.com suggest the Police team failed to complete registration for the league’s commencement. Guard for Police’s Male Team Emmanuel Dickson, was disappointed with the turn of events but was confident the situation will be rectified in no time.
Fire Service Ladies Team lost heavily to Prisons in the day’s second game after Air Force won the game of the new season. Fire lost 30-62 as Prisons run riot throughout the entire game to record the biggest win margin on the day.
