Despite suffering a 36-38 loss to reigning Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship winners University of Ghana, DC Dynamics had “victories” to be happy about according to head coach Feranmi Olulonyo.
The Dansoman-based team who recently got promoted to compete in the Greater Accra Men’s Division I Basketball League engaged the tertiary giants as part of preparations for the upcoming new season which begins on May 5.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com, Olulonyo wasn’t perturbed by the loss as he identified positives which will serve the team well going forward. He said:
“Obviously I’d have liked the W(win) but there were a lot of other victories I am happy about. We were able to play against a team with several shooters. We matched their physicality, we executed well on offense. Most importantly we competed till the end”.
Dynamics will take on Airforce in the second week of the upcoming league with games against Rangers and Reformers set to follow.
University of Ghana beat Accra Polytechnic 45-44 to win the UPAC title for first time in the institution’s history. The team had won the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Basketball competition earlier this year.
The team will compete in an international basketball competition in South Africa later this year.
