DC Dynamics lost 36-38 to reigning Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship winners University of Ghana (UG) over the weekend at the latter’s Central Basketball Court.
The game which forms part of Dynamics preseason games ahead of the Greater Accra Men’s Division I Basketball League which tips off on May 5 had the newly promoted side to the league give the tertiary giants headaches throughout.
Dynamics held a 36-32 lead with less than two minutes left to play when Dynamics made two costly turnovers that UG capitalized to even the score and take the lead in the game. UG saw out the remaining seconds to record a close win in the team’s first game after winning the tertiary title.
The play, execution and poise of Dynamics team-first play did garner a lot of respect from fans and opposition alike and the team will take a lot of positives from the game that when worked on will serve Dynamics well in the league.
The Dansoman-based side is scheduled to play Airforce in Week Two of the league. Tema Youth takes on Fire in the opening game on May 5 when the league commences.
University of Ghana will compete in an international tournament in South Africa later this month.
