Greater Accra Division II Men’s Basketball League has become the latest entity to be affected by the recent change in the start of the respective leagues in the Ghana’s capital city, Accra.
The second tier of the region’s basketball will have to reschedule a new day for competition to commence. The league was scheduled to tipoff on Saturday April 23 at Lebanon House with OSK taking on Panthers in the opening game.
Panthers played in the Division I last season before dropping down the rankings after an abysmal performance in the league.
All eight teams were scheduled to compete on Day One of the new season as Juniors was set to play Tema Youth, with Leopards taking on Police and Galaxy taking on CYO in the day’s other games.
A level higher, the Division I also has felt the effects of the late postponement as games scheduled to take place yesterday got scraped.
Six of the ten teams in the league would have played on the day had the original day stood with Tema Youth taking on Fire in the opening game.
This was to be followed by Navy against Reformers and Magic against Holy Family. Defending champions Braves of CEPS will have to wait a bit longer to launch a title defense as they get to play in the second week.
