Blue Crest College will take on host team Dam City Basketball Club again in the final of the2016 edition of the Easter Ball after the final game was called off due to heavy rain.
The tournament which features six teams-Data Link University, NFC Ballers, Black Outfit, Blazers of Manuel’s, Blue Crest College and Dam City- was originally scheduled to take place during the Easter holidays. However, plans were remade and the tournament tipped off on April 15 in Akosombo.
Blue Crest having beaten Dam City already in the tournament, will be on the look to repeat the winning dose on Sunday when the two teams meet again. The team held a 13-8 advantage before the rains came down heavily with three minutes to play in the second quarter.
Blue Crest had gone undefeated in the tournament having beaten Dam City 34-33 and Blazers 38-27 in the group meetings before delivering a knockout blow 52-37 to Black Oufit to qualify for the final.
The team will be hoping to crown what a wonderful start to the institution’s fledgling basketball program. Blue Crest College made an impressive debut in the just ended Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship by taking second place winners Accra Polytechnic to the wire in a 23-27 losing effort.
The team also defeated Zenith University College before losing to Valley View University.
