University of Ghana (UG) Forward Muhaimin Guba has made a bold declaration not to change his style of play blaming the extensive injuries he sustained on how opponents played against his team in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

UG beat defending champions Accra Polytechnic 45-44 to win the UPAC Championship for the first time in the institution’s history. Muhaimin who was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Tournament for his outstanding play in the competition attributed injuries to his right eye and elbow to opponents play.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com after UG’s appearance on premier basketball show “Fast Break” on Ghana channel TV 3, Guba said:

“Those injuries I sustained were not due to how I play. It was due to how the opponent(s) were playing so changing my style of play, no. My style of play actually got me the MVP so I don’t see why I should change it.”

Guba sustained both injuries in the final round of quarter final games in Group A against Accra Polytechnic where UG broke the latter’s undefeated run in the competition. UG repeated the winning dose in the finals to lift the trophy in the Championship’s third edition.
