Referees from other regions should be contacted to officiate future games in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship according to Takoradi Polytechnic Chief Physical Instructor Stephen Abakah.
Takoradi Polytechnic placed fourth in the Championship after suffering a 45-48 loss to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the third place game.

The Chief made the suggestion to organizers of the Championship, Rite Sports Limited after Takoradi Polytechnic placed fourth in the tournament. Speaking to Basketballghana.com he said:

“Next time when they (Rite Sports) want to organize another tournament, they should call referees from different regions because what I have noticed is every tournament it is this same referees who officiate games which is not fair…when that is done favoritism will be ignored”.
