Most Valuable Player of the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Muhaimin Guba has expressed his delight after emerging as the tournament’s best player.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after Team UG (University of Ghana) made an appearance on premier basketball show “Fast Break” on Ghanaian channel TV 3, Guba said:
“It is the greatest feeling a basketball player at this level can ever have… I wasn’t expecting it because all I wanted to do was work hard, give my all and make sure my team had the ultimate victory”
He also singled out UG Coach Meme Falconer for his immense contribution in improving his game and helping the team win big.
The Forward was instrumental in University of Ghana’s unbeaten run in the Championship which had them capture top spot in Zone G of the preliminary qualifiers, top Group A in the quarter finals and beat Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 49-47.
The win against KNUST pitched the reigning GUSA (Ghana Universities Sports Association) Basketball Champions against then defending UPAC Champions Accra Polytechnic. With a go ahead three point shot from Shooting Guard Emmanuel Wolff, University of Ghana emerged champions winning 45-44.
Fast Break is a top rated Ghanaian basketball show that is televised on TV3 between 13:00 and 14:30 GMT on Sunday.
