University of Ghana Basketball team went on an undefeated run in a mini basketball tournament organized over the weekend as the team continues preparations for the upcoming round of Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship qualifiers.
The games had hosts, University of Professional Studies (UPSA) compete against Accra College of Education (ACCE) and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) as well, in an all play all format.
University of Ghana (UG) beat out the competition from a strong field entirely by winning all three games, with UPSA coming second by beating GIMPA and ACCE. GIMPA placed third in the tournament courtesy a solo win over whipping boys, ACCE.
Following a turbulent year where the team underachieved massively, UG has been on a roll lately, winning games including a 65-49 win over UPSA in the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games Basketball competition.
UG will be in action again on Friday April 8, when it hosts reigning Private Universities Students Association (PUSAG) Basketball champions Marshalls University College, Central University College and Wisconsin University College in Group G of the UPAC Championship preliminary stage.
GIMPA will also be in action on the same day; playing a must win game against Pentecost University College for a spot in the quarter finals of the UPAC Championship. The team has won one game and lost another in Zone A.
