Marshalls University College Basketball team has qualified for the quarter finals of the 2016 Private Universities Students Association (PUSAG) Games. The highly rated team has made it into the last eight of the competition with Evangelical Presbyterian University College, Radford University College and Methodist University College.
Ghana Technology University College-Accra, Central University College, Kings University College and Regent University College have also made it into the last eight. The ninth edition of the three day PUSAG Games is taking place at the El-Wak Stadium in Ghana capital, Accra.
Following a massive recruitment prior to the competition, Marshalls went into the tournament as huge favorites and have not disappointed so far by qualifying ahead of Catholic University College and Ashesi University in Group E.
However, 2015 champions, Zenith University College have been bundled out of the tournament after failing to qualify from Group G alongside Ghana Christian University College which had Kings University College and Evangelical Presbyterian University College make it to the last eight.
In Group F, Radford University College surprisingly qualified ahead of last year’s beaten finalist Pentecost University College and and little known Presbyterian University College.
This year’s edition is being held under the theme,” Strengthening Peace Through Universities Games”. Quarter final games will commence today at 13:00 GMT.
Below is the complete list of quarter final pairings:
