Takoradi Polytechnic basketball head coach Owusu Ansah strongly believes his side will be chasing the dream of victory in the third edition of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The 2016 UPAC Championship next leg of qualifiers will take place at the University of Cape-Coast on Thursday March 24 and will feature four institutions , host University of Cape-Coast, Cape-Coast Polytechnic, University of Education-Winneba and Takoradi Polytechnic compete for Zone E’s sole ticket to the last eight.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after training on Tuesday, the tactical head who has overseen his team engage some Takoradi select sides in friendlies said:
“For us our dream makes our team work and that dream is to be victorious. My boys are very positive and determined to make themselves proud by qualifying to the finals in Accra.”
Takoradi Polytechnic will be hoping to make a third straight appearance in the last eight of the competition; an enviable record dating back to 2011 in the maiden season of UPAC. However, in previous editions, two slots were available as opposed to this year’s edition which features just one qualifying spot.
