The 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship warm up games will take place at Accra Polytechnic at 14:00 GMT today. The scrimmage forms part of a two day tune up schedule set up to serve as a teaser to the main tournament which takes place between March 5 and April 16.
The main tournament will feature 28 tertiary institutions compete for the ultimate tertiary basketball trophy in Ghana and is headlined by world best-selling deodorant brand, Rexona.
Eight teams will participate in the warm up games with University of Professional Studies (UPSA) taking on Valley View University in today’s opening game. Defending champions Accra Polytechnic will meet Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in the next game.
Ghana Technology University College (Accra), Zenith University College, Wisconsin University College and Marshalls University College will make their debut in the dress rehearsal on Saturday February 27 at the University of Ghana court.
