Veteran coach and long time referee Mathias Ocloo has expressed his deep sadness following the demise of Ghana Basketball Referee Association Chairman Stephen Kofi Antwi.
The Chairman died after battling a series of illness which regressed over the weekend at his residence in Teshie, a suburb of Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Ocloo-a former national basketball team manager who headed the team during Antwi’s playing days before joining the Army described the fallen Chairman as a funny person.
“To work with him is very interesting” he lamented to Basketballghana.com in an interview.
The former Chairman was a FIBA (International Basketball Federation) International Referee and took over as Chairman of the nation’s basketball referees association from J.E. Lamptey.
He last presided over a meeting on August 4, 2015. He was 72.
