Telecommunication giant MTN will sponsor the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which is set to take place from March 5 to April 16.
The Rite Sports organized event is headlined by premium deodorant brand Rexona and will feature 28 tertiary institutions drafted from all ten regions of Ghana compete against each other for the ultimate trophy in tertiary basketball.
MTN comes on board as preparations are set to hit the home stretch in the upcoming weeks with arranged warm up games set to take place before the commencement of the tournament.
Partnering with Ghana’s leading telecommunication company ensures the championship will benefit from world class communication service and extensive coverage.
The UPAC Championship started in 2011 and brings together all tertiary institutions to compete under one umbrella event contrary to respective tournaments which are tailored to specific sects of institutions.
Accra Polytechnic are the defending champions and will make it three straight wins should the institution emerge winners of the 10 week-long event.
