Rexona will sponsor the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which is set to take place between March 5 and April 16.
The competition is set to feature 28 institutions drafted from eight regions slug it out for the most coveted trophy in Ghana’s tertiary circles.
Due to the incredible rise of basketball in the country, Rexona-the world renowned deodorant brand of Unilever- has agreed to partner tournament organizer Rite Sports as headline sponsor of UPAC’s third edition.
Sensing the need for more invest in the sport, Rexona has pledged to commit massive financial and logistical support to ensure the championship’s success story continues.
Rexona, the world’s best selling deodorant, was launched in Ghana on August 2,2014 and has since provided consumers with cutting edge “No White Marks” technology. The brand which is under Unilever is related to other brands including Lifebuoy.
Originally known as Universities and Colleges Basketball Championship, UPAC was created to extend basketball’s growing stature in Ghana to tertiary institutions back in 2011.
Accra Polytechnic will be in contention for a third straight title after winning the past two editions including last year’s 57-40 win over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
