Amida Brimah returned to the University of Connecticut Male Basketball team to aid in an impressive 67-41 win over University of Central Florida (UCF) earlier today.

The Connecticut Huskies welcomed the 7 foot Ghanaian Center back to their fold following a five week stint on the sidelines due to a broken finger. During this time, Amida missed 11 straight games including a 58-57 loss to Cincinnati in Hartford.

In 18 minutes off the bench, Amida recorded six points, two rebounds and two blocks on his return.

The top defender anchored UCONN’s defense to limit Central Florida to shoot 23.5 percent (12-51) from the field. UCONN also out rebounded UCF 41-33.

Prior to his injury in mid-December, Brimah was ranked ninth in blocked shots in the National Collegiate Athletc Association (NCAA) in the U.S.

UCONN will play next at University of Memphis on Thursday February 4.
