Temple University Ernest Aflakpui’s rich vein of form will be under the microscope as “The Owls” head to Florida to play against South Florida on Sunday.
The 6 foot 10 inch Ghanaian born Center’s improved play has seen him move from the fringes of being redshirted due to medical concerns into the team’s rotation.
Having played only three games all season after tearing his meniscus, Aflakpui made just five appearances totalling 24 minutes and didn’t play in five other games to begin this season. Since January 2 however, he has featured in three out of four games and played a career high 20 minutes where he recorded six points, three rebounds and one blocked shot.
The ArchBishop Caroll High School graduate seems keen on repaying his coach’s trust by putting in the work.
“All he asked is work hard and he rewards hard work, I wasn’t really surprised when he started me, and I knew I had to go in there and do my best” he said.
The Temple Owls lie third in the American Athletic Conference with a 11 win 8 loss record.
