President of the Ashanti Regional Branch of the Ghana Lebanon Club Haidab Hany feted Opoku Ware’s basketball team at Sir Max Hotel at Ahodwo, Kumasi following a wonderful showing in the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship.

The treat was in fulfillment of an earlier promise by the basketball enthusiast to the team prior to the start of the championship in early January.

The kind gesture is the latest in a long line of philanthropic acts from the Kumasi-based businessman who has regularly provided the team with high end basketball equipment, apparel and financial support.

Perhaps his most important contribution to the team was the pivotal role he played in recruiting Point Guard Emmanuel Opare and top rebounder Harris from Chiefs Basketball Academy in Kumasi to Opoku Ware.

According to coach Alexander Obeng “KT” Takyi, his benevolence has been crucial to the success of the team in recent years.

“He has been the team’s backbone with lots and lots of financial support” he said.
