Osu Hawks Sharpshooter Benjamin Debrah claims some games in the just ended 2016 Sprite Ball Championship were actually better than the Greater Accra League Finals.
The top dunking Shooting Guard who guided the Hawks to win gold in the inaugural community basketball tournament, made the comments when contacted by Basketballghana.com.
He said, “The semi, quarter and final matches were better than the Greater Accra League finals.”
“And I hope next year will be more fired up” he responded when asked about his expectations for next year’s edition which will be the tenth anniversary of the tournament.
Debrah, who featured in the All-Star game for the White Team was on hand to see new champions crowned in both boys’ and girls’ divisions respectively.
St. Augustine’s College will defend the national championship next year following a massive 37-22 win over Mfantsipim School in the final.
Central Region champions Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School rode their winning momentum to emerge victorious in the girls’ division.
