Osu Hawks Shooting Guard Benjamin Debrah has expressed his delight about the high level of competition exhibited by players during the just ended 2016 Sprite Ball Championship.
The athletic wingman who played in the All-Star game at the championship made the statement when contacted by Basketballghana.com for his views on the tournament.
“I was happy to see the lads exhibiting great passion and skill representing their school and pride” he said.
He cited benevolence from schools alumni as a major driving force behind the immense commitment from the players.
“This saw most old boys giving back to their school which motivated the lads to play their heart out.”
The former Oda Senior High School standout guided the Osu Hawks to claim the inaugral Rush Community Basketball Tournament by beating Ashaiman Tigers in the final game.
St. Augustine’s College won its’ first national championship after a comprehensive 37-22 win over arch rivals Mfantsipim School. Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School emerged winners in the female division.
