Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah separated his left shoulder in the second quarter against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, and could end up missing a significant amount of time.
Fighting for a rebound with Mavs center JaVale McGee, Noah injured his shoulder and immediately ran to the locker room. Noah was clearly in severe pain, screaming expletives while clutching onto his left shoulder.
The Bulls quickly announced that Noah has a separated left shoulder and that he would not return.
Noah suffered a similar injury to the same shoulder earlier in the season and missed nine games. He returned to action Monday against the Washington Wizards.
After working hard in the offseason to be healthy, Noah has had an inconsistent season so far. He moved to a reserve role, one that he is reportedly unhappy about, and is averaging 4.4 points and nine rebounds in 22.5 minutes a game.
