Kumasi Girls’ High School basketball head coach Zibo Brown is bent on making a return to the Sprite Ball Championship next year his team’s impressive performance in its’ maiden appearance.

The Kumasi-based side placed fourth after falling to eventual champions Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School in the semi-final and T.I.Ahmediyya Senior High School in the second runner up game.

Despite stuttering in the final stages of the competition, coach Brown was satisfied with his team’s overall performance.

“K Gee did very well and I promise we will come back next year and win it because this time am gonna start training them early so we can work on our mistakes especially the free shots” he said.

“In all I think it was a wonderful program thanks to Coca-Cola Company, Yaw Sakyi and his crew” he added.

St. Augustine’s College from the Central Region emerged winners in the boys’ division for the first time in the competition’s history.

The Sprite Ball Championship is a Rite Sports Limited organized tournament and will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year.
