The 2016 Sprite Ball Championship commences in just a few hours and prior to game time, some coaches of the qualified schools have made bold statements about their teams.
The qualified school have arrived in Accra and are based at the University of Ghana where they will compete against each other for the chance to annex the biggest basketball trophy in Ghana.
Coach of Koforidua Secondary Technical School Eric Simon Larbi didn’t mice words when asked about the 2009 silver medalist chances in this year’s competition.
“We expect something big something super and perform wonders” he said.
For Frank “Agoro Nana” Agyei of Prempeh College, “I am expecting a lot from my team because we exited at the quarter finals last year so I have made a lot of corrections to my team so this year I am expecting to win.”
Raymond Abagi of championship contenders St. Thomas Aquinas, his dismissive expressions were in bed with his statement as well.
“I don’t have any problem with any team or school because we are well prepared watch out for Aquinas we will surprise all these teams” he said.
Reverend Zibo Brown, coach of debutants Kumasi Girls’ High School was in confident mood as he was adamant his side will do well in their debut appearance in the tournament. He said, “I want to prove to the world that we have people out there having the talent and skills to make an impact.”
