Former Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah has made a surprise visit to Opoku Ware’s basketball team ahead of the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship.
The soft spoken tactician made history in 2014 by becoming the first indigenous coach to lead Ghana’s national male football team to the FIFA World Cup.
The former old student of the Kumasi-based school surprised the technical team and playing body by showing up at the school where the team has been camping for the upcoming tournament.
He called on the technical handlers to ensure the team is well prepared to make another deep run in the tournament.
Coach Kwesi Appiah just completed his first season in charge of Sudanese side Al-Khartoum SC where he guided the team to place fourth in the Sudan Premier League.
Opoku Ware has been drawn in Group C along side Ghana Secondary Technical School, St.Thomas Aquinas and Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School.
