Opoku Ware School basketball coach Alexander “KT” Obeng Takyi is adamant Group C is the toughest group in the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship.
The soft spoken tactician made this known when contacted by Basketballghana.com after the draw for the 2016 edition of the championship was conducted over the weekend on TV3’s “FastBreak”.
“One of the toughest group if not the toughest among the four groups in my opinion”.
“We were in the same group with GSTS last year but we beat them in the group stages” he said.
The three-time medalist have been drawn in the same group with Ghana Secondary Technical School, St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School and Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School.
“OWASS is yet to have any basketball encounter with St. Aquinas and Aggrey either but I expect stiffer opposition from the two” he concurred.
Match days at the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship will take place between Januray 5-7 at the El-Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
