The 2016 edition of the celebrated Sprite Ball Championship is set to place between January 3-7 at the El-Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra and will have 16 and 10 schools compete in boys’ and girls’ categories respectively.
The qualified schools will play for a chance to win the biggest basketball trophy in Ghana.
Seven teams have been seeded for a live draw scheduled to be held live on TV 3’s Fast Break between 13:00 and 14:30 GMT on Sunday December 27.
Defending champions T.I. Ahmediyya, Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School and Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School have been seeded in the girls’ division.
The seeded teams in the boys’ division are defending champions Mfantsipim, Opoku Ware School, Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (Legon) and Pope John Senior High and Junior Seminary.

Pot A will feature defending Champions T.I. Ahmediyya from the Ashanti Region. The ladies from the Kumasi-based school have already bagged two national titles with one coming in their debut appearance.
Pot B will have Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School. The Central Regional champions are seeded again by placing second behind T.I.
AMASS in last year’s final. Aggrey will be hoping for a second title at the tournament’s end.
Pot C features Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School also from the Central Region. The third placed team from the last editions earns the ladies from Saltpond another top seeding position.
