Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School basketball team will on Wednesday break training camp as the school prepares for Sprite Ball 2016.
The break comes in light of the Christmas festivities which will enable players to go back to their families for the holidays and rest ahead of the tournament.
The Sprite Ball Championship will take place next year between January 3-7 at El-Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital city, Accra with 26 participating schools.
The Kumasi -based school having already secured qualification to the national games has been busily readying itself ahead of the tournament.
The team started residential camping on the 19th this month that had players undergo various exercise routines aimed at improving conditioning and some in-game drills.
Kumasi Girls and T.I. Ahmediyya will represent the Ashanti Region in the girls’ division at the tournament. Opoku Ware and Prempeh College will do same in the boys’ division.
