Rush Community Basketball Tournament Most Valuable Player Emmanuel Dickson has singled out preparation as the main reason behind his success in the just ended competition at Accra Polytechnic.
The nine week tournament held in Ghana’s capital, Accra, ended with Dickson’s Osu Hawks team emerging champions. The Ashaiman Tigers after falling to Osu in the final game came in second.
Dickson who averaged 17.5 points in six games to come third on the scorers chart also ranked high across several categories including assists and two point percentage.
“I had really prepared for this tournament, I spent time a lot to train and I think my hard work has yielded results” the Power Forward said after receiving his award.
He was rewarded with a shopping voucher worth 1000 Ghana Cedis from sports wear company Adidas and souvenirs from other sponsors.
The Rush Community Basketball Tournament had 10 teams from Ghana’s Greater Accra and Central Regions respectively compete in the competition’s maiden season.
