GN Bank jerseyA top Ghanaian indigenous bank GN Bank will sponsor St. Augustine’s College basketball team at the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship.

The sponsorship covers jerseys and match tickets for travelling supporters ahead of the hugely-anticipated championship in Ghana’s capital, Accra January next year.

The well-respected founder and leader of Ghana’s Progressive People’s Party reached out to his alma mater following the school’s qualification to the famous championship.

Dr. Ndoum, a former player and follower of the game wants to build the capacity of young people using basketball as a tool, leading to the decision to sponsor his former school.

The sponsorship is the latest philanthropic act from the iconic Ghanaian politician to St Augustine’s College after making several magnanimous contributions to the Cape Coast-based school over the years.

In line with the Group’s core value of loyalty, Group Ndoum Foundation built an ultra-modern boarding hall for the school last year.

The 2016 Sprite Ball finals, which takes place at the El-Wak Stadium from January 5-7, is expected to be a sell-out event.

The biggest basketball tournament at the Senior High level will see high-profile schools slug it out for the ultimate diadem.

It promises to be fireworks as sixteen (16) boys and ten (10) girls schools partake in the most sought-after event in the West African country.

Basketball is on ascendency with massive following amongst the youth in Ghana and appears the 10th edition of the championship will be an explosion to give true meaning for its current ratings as the second most preferred sports amongst the youth in the country.

GN Bank have truly lived up to their core values and vision as it continues to support local brands since it was established 18 years ago, spearheaded by the evergreen Dr Nduom.

The bank was incorporated in 1997 with the primary goal of providing unparalleled excellence in banking service anytime, anyplace and anywhere.
