lakersLos Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant left Sunday’s game against the Detroit Pistons because of gastroenteritis (stomach flu), and received IV fluids in the locker room afterward, per the Los Angeles Times’ Mike Bresnahan. Los Angeles lost the game 111-91.

This wasn’t exactly the best stop on Bryant’s farewell tour. In 26 minutes, he shot 2-for-15, including 1-for-6 from 3-point range. He finished with five points, three rebounds, one assist and three turnovers. Detroit fans still chanted his name when he was in the locker room.

Since he was sick, the way the evening played out was strange. Bryant played the entire third quarter, despite the fact he wasn’t effective and the Lakers were down by 20-plus points the whole time.

Los Angeles’ eight-game road trip continues on Monday against the Toronto Raptors. It’ll be the last time Bryant plays at the Air Canada Centre, unless he’s voted in as an All-Star starter.
