spritelogoSt. Thomas Aquinas and Labone Senior High School’s Boys team took commanding steps to qualify for next year’s Sprite Ball Championship respectively.
Labone qualified to the next stage by defeating Kinbu Senior High School 18-4 in the Greater Accra Zone 2 qualifiers.
Labone started out strongly from tipoff and established a massive 10-0 score by the end of the first half. Bismark Obolley displayed world class shooting from deep to lead his team to victory. Cecil Akoto chipped in six points.
Akoto’s fake shot and jumper just inside the restricted area extended Labone’s lead to eight. Prior to that, Labone had scored all six points from the paint. Kinbu scored four straight points after recess before Bismark made two crucial three pointers to establish a dominant lead.
In the next game, St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School made light work of Accra Technical Training Center (ATTC) by thumping them 21-7. Aquinas stormed through the first half to establish an irrepressible 16-2 lead by the end of the first half on the back of Amos Ollenu’s barrage of three-pointers.
The second half had little in terms of scoring from both teams as the half was characterized by missed shots. However, Aquinas managed to maintain their 14 point lead on the back of a pair of drives.
