Ghanaian side Braves of Customs have missed out on qualifying for the 2015 African Champions Cup.
The basketball team of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was unable to finish among the top two places in Africa Zone 3 qualifiers held in Benin from November 4-12.
However, Braves Romeo Enan and Baniba Dodzi made the All-Star Team.
Nigerian clubs Kano Pillars and Mark Mentors clinched the two spots for this year’s African Champions Cup (ACC) after finishing top of the six-team. Tournament Most Valuable Player, Nigerian international Abubakar Abubakar Usman sparked Kano Pillars to a 5-0 record.
Nigerian champions Mark Mentors finished second with four wins in five games. This year’s ACC will be held in Luanda, Angola, from 10-20 December. Kano Pillars and Mark Mentors will join ES Rades (Tunisia) FAR Rabat (Morocco), Gezira (Egypt), ASCUT (Madagascar), Desportivo de Maputo (Mozambique).
Completing the list is Petro de Luanda, reigning ACC champions Recreativo do Libolo and hosts Primeiro D’Agosto; all three teams are from Angola. There are still two more places up for grabs for the ACC 2015.
