The two-day 2015 Sprite Ball clinic took place in Accra and Cape Coast on June 9 and 10 in Ghana.
Two of NBA stars Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Gorgui Dieng (Minnesota Timberwolves) took the up-and-coming players through various drills at the two venues before and expectant crowd.
It was a two-day of exciting contest in the West African country as players got the real chance of being trained under the tutelage of the two NBA super stars.
They were happy to be in Ghana to help develop and inspire young Ghanaian basketball talents.
They further expressed their condolence to the victims of the recent flood and fire disaster in the country.
Ibaka and Dieng both originally from Congo and Senegal respectively, interacted with players and officials from Greater Accra as part of the promotional drive for the sports in Ghana.
The NBA stars shared their experiences and knowledge of the game with the players and officials.
Nathan Mensah and Joel Mensah represented Ghana last year, after their outstanding display during the screening exercise.
This year at least two players will be selected to represent Ghana at this year’s Basketball Without Borders Programme in South Africa.
In attendance were officials of Sprite including Brands and Marketing Services Manager Philip Assah, also associate director of basketball operation at NBA Africa Kita Matungulu, Ghana Basketball Association David Addo-Ashong.
