The ’Splash Brothers’ Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry powered the Golden State Warriors again on Tuesday morning, beating the New Orleans Pelicans 97-87 in the second meeting of the first-round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Thompson and Curry finished with three three-pointers apiece to pull away from a determinant Pelicans side which led by as many as 13 points, the biggest lead in the game.
While Thompson had a team-best 26 points, Curry had 22 and six assists, Draymond Green added 14 points, 12 rebounds and fives assists in the winning cause.
It was the Warriors’ second straight win in the first-round since 1989.
The Warriors lead the series 2-0.
Anthony Davis epitomised the Pelicans ‘fighting spirit’ with 26 points and ten rebounds.
The series now shift to New Orleans, where the Pelicans will try to get back in the contention on Friday morning.
In Chicago, Derrick Rose had a slow start, but the Bulls prevailed beating the Milwaukee Bucks 91–82.
Rose missed all his shooting attempts in the first-half.
The former MVP stepped up in the second half, adding 15 points and a game-high nine assists as the Bulls lead the series 2-0.
Jimmy Butler set a playoff career-high for the second straight game with a dominant performance, leading all scorers with 31 points, while Khris Middleton sparked the Bucks with 22 points.
The Bucks will host the Bulls in Game 3 on Friday at Milwaukee.
